MyGov Accounts

You may have seen or heard about a new Australian Government online service called MyGov, where individuals can access information and documents relating to various government services, including Medicare, Centrelink, ATO, Child Support, Disability and others.  When you create a MyGov account, you have the option to Link it to these and other Member Services.

If you voluntarily Link your ATO account to your MyGov account, this will automatically change the delivery method for ATO Correspondence so that ATO documents will no longer come to your registered tax agent. They will go electronically to your MyGov account.

At Aspire, part of our individual tax return service is to receive correspondence on your behalf, and check and forward to you, so you know how much to pay and when. This includes your Notice of Assessment for your tax return, as well as any income tax instalment notices or other correspondence.

It is our preference to continue to provide this service to our clients, so that we can help you manage your ATO liabilities and obligations. Hence we’re asking our clients to not Link your ATO account to your MyGov account.  If you choose to Link these online Government services, please just be aware that we will no longer receive ATO correspondence on your behalf.
